Summary
The Director of Human Resources (DHR) is a member of the Administrative Team that includes the Director of Information Services, Director of Medical Services, Director of Operations, Director of Patient Resources, and the Executive Director. The DHR supports the mission and values of Maple City Health Care Center (MCHCC) by developing and continuing to oversee policies, procedures and functions related to human resource development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees all systems and processes of a centralized Human Resource department to ensure consistency and accuracy including but not limited to:
- Oversees confidential employee record keeping
- Oversees employment processes (recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, change of position, exiting)
- Provides support to supervisors to monitor employee progress during the first three months of employment
- Oversees the development and revision of job descriptions
- Oversees development, implementation, and management of the job review process
- Oversees further development of corrective and disciplinary processes, including supervisory documentation (ex: incident reporting, employee improvement plans) and providing support and coaching to supervisors in their usage
- Oversees development, implementation and management of a mentoring program for new supervisors
- Collaborates with the Executive Director to develop and implement a provider recruitment process
- Collaborates with the Executive Director in areas of organizational culture; staff trainings, professional development, succession planning, meetings, shared staff meals, and use of non-clinical shared spaces
- Collaborates with the Director of Finance to coordinate benefits (ex: workman’s comp incidents, parental leaves, extended leaves)
- Oversees tracking of MCHCC credentialing and privileging files and collaborates with the Executive Director and Director of Medical Services to approve applications
- Participates in the COVID+ working group
- Other duties that support our shared work as assigned
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resource development experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in training, coaching, and mentoring preferred
- Experience working on diverse, multilingual, multicultural teams
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Self-motivated critical thinker
- Commitment to work collaboratively within the organization
- Circle experience preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, other languages an asset

Accountability
The Director of Human Resources is supervised by the Executive Director. The Director of Human Resources supervises the Employment Coordinator and the Credentialing Specialist. Details of review processes are outlined in the employment agreement and in the Employee Handbook.
Salary Range and Benefits
Salary is determined according to the Employee Salary and Wage Protocol, based on a range of factors including education, experience, responsibility, and language proficiency. S/He/They will receive comprehensive employee benefits package, based on FTE.
